Now in the fifth year running, dog food brand Pedigree has launched its annual adoption drive. The Pedigree Adoption Drive continues to raise awareness of animal welfare and encourages Irish dog lovers to adopt a dog from their local shelter or welfare organisation. For every pack of Pedigree dog food bought, during the Pedigree Adoption Drive, a donation from Pedigree will be given to help Irish dogs. In Ireland, averages of 44 dogs are abandoned every single day.

MADRA Dog Expo takes place this weekend

Dog lovers will descend on the Black Box in Galway this weekend for Ireland’s only dog expo, in aid of Connemara-based rescue charity MADRA.

Price of eggs set to rise as demand exceeds supply

Egg prices across the EU have increased by 40 per cent so far this year. To date the average price in Ireland has only gone up by five per cent but this is set to change very shortly as the impact of the EU wide shortage of eggs hits Ireland.

These two female wired haired terriers are being offered free to a good home. Their owner has to move away for work. They are mild mannered dogs and very good with both children and adults and it would be best if they were rehomed together as they are mother and daughter.

Mayo Cat Rescue

The cat rescue is offering cat owners the opportunity to have their female cats spayed for just €35, and their male cats neutered for just €25, which is about half the normal cost.
